How come people going to church still carry with them so many burdens? Because we confuse authority with power and power with authority. We are crying out for power when in reality we need authority.
Power, just like the gift of prophecy, speaking in other languages or tongues, interpretation of those tongues, dreams and visions etc, is a gift from God. The gifts are irrevocable, which explains why people ca operate in God’s gifting, walk away from God and still have the gifting.
Ezekiel 28- When Satan was thrown out of God’s presence for rebelling, tells us that even thought he lost his authority he kept his power. Lucifer had a certain amount of authority in heaven, lost it, and was looking for a way to gain it back. In the garden of Eden, he wasn’t after Adam and Eve, he was after the authority God gave them and once the two sinned by disobedience, Satan got that authority back. Luke 4:5

We can have major authority but give it away to someone else, like Solomon did to his wives.

When Jesus was tempted by Satan his response in Luke 4:8 proves Satan had the authority on Earth. Mathew 28;18 shows Jesus had been given authority on Earth from the Father and only after the cross Jesus got the authority back. Mathew 28:18, John 5:16, 19-23 but v. 22 speaks of Jesus operating in the authority of the father before and after all authority was returned to him.

The closer we are to God the more authority we have in him. Not in us or through our efforts, but in him only since all authority comes from the Father.

Why does this matter?

God wants us to know the difference between power and authority for our own victory. The two are regularly misunderstood. Tyrants rule with power (violence and force) thinking they’re doing it with authority.But when you have authority you can command things to obey you (water waves, healing, exorcism etc). Thus he wants us to walk in authority, nothing wrong with power, but we need authority, because demons and satan have power too but not authority. Demons are not subject to power but authority. When archangel Michael fought Satan over Moses’ body, found in Jude 9, Michael won only through authority from the Father. We gain authority by Jesus’s blood, as a result of the fruit of our relationship with God, by us ourselves walking under authority. Authority trumps power. Luke 10:19 If you’re not connected with God that’s only power disguised as authority, and you’ll get tricked and confused. In the end even Solomon said that only two things are important: Fear the Lord and Keep his commandments.

In the end it’s you and God, it’s me and God

When we start losing authority than we will always try to rule by power.

We had few trees removed yesterday. They were 10 years overdue, dying and one branch already fell on our roof damaging our gutters last summer, right on our anniversary. Cum de oameni care merg la biserică încă poarta cu ei atâtea poveri? Pentru că ei confundă autoritate cu putere și putere cu autoritate. Ei plâng de lipsa de putere, atunci când, în realitate, au nevoie de autoritate.
Puterea, la fel ca și darul de profetie, vorbind în alte limbi, interpretarea acestor limba, vise și viziuni, etc, este un dar de la Dumnezeu, este irevocabil, ceea ce explica de ce anumite persoane care-i intorc spatele lui D-zeu inca mai au darurile date de el.
Ezechiel 28- Când Satan a fost aruncat din prezența lui Dumnezeu pentru revoltă, și-a pierdut autoritatea dar a păstrat puterea lui. Lucifer a avut o anumită cantitate de autoritate în cer, a pierdut-o, și a fost în căutare pentru o modalitate de a  obține autoritate înapoi. În grădina Edenului, nu era după Adam și Eva, el a fost după autoritatea data lor de D-zeu, si a o data ce Adam si Eva au păcătuit prin neascultare si-au pierdut autoritatea lor la Satana.  Luca 4: 5

Noi putem da sau pierde autoritatea noastra, exemplu Solomon cu sotiile lui.
Când Isus (sau al doilea Adam),  a fost ispitit de Satana el a răspuns: Luca 4: 8 dovedind ca Satan avea autoritate pe pamint. Matei 28 :18  arata ca Isus are autoritate pe pamint si in cer data de Tatal si numai dupa rastignire Isus a primit autoritatea asupra Satanei inapoi.
Autoritatea este centrată in proximitatea relatiei nostre cu Dumnezeu.

Cu cât realtia noastra este mai puternica cu Dumnezeu cu cit mai multa autoritate avem în el. Nu în noi prin eforturile noastre, ci  doar în el, toată autoritatea vine de la Tatăl.
De ce conteaza lucru asta?
Dumnezeu  vrea ca noi să știm diferența dintre putere și autoritate pentru propria noastră victorie. Cele doua sunt greșit înțelese în mod regulat. Tiranii se pronunțe cu putere (violenta si forta) crezând că fac asta cu autoritate. Atunci când avem autoritate putem comanda (valuri de apa,  vindecare, demoni să plece, etc) si ne vor asculta. Astfel, el vrea ca noi să umblăm în autoritate, nimic în neregulă cu putere, dar avem nevoie de autoritate, pentru că demonii și Satana au putere, dar nu autoritate. Demonii nu sunt supusi puterii, numai autoritatii. Când Arhanghelul Mihail sa luptat cu Satana asupra corpului lui Moise, în Iuda 9, Michael a câștigat doar prin autoritatea data in numele Tatălui. Autoritatea lui D-zeu este mai presus de orice putere. Luca 10:19

Câștigam autoritate numai prin  sângele lui Isus, prin rodul relației noastre cu Dumnezeu, daca noi înșine sintem sub autoritatea lui D-zeu. Dacă nu ne conectam cu Dumnezeu atunci avem numai putere dechizata ca autoritate, și vom fi păcăliti și plin de confuzie. În cele din urmă, chiar Solomon a spus că doar două lucruri sunt importante: Temerea de Domnul și păzirea poruncile Lui.
